Requirements/Duties
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and lesson plans.
- Follow the center’s curriculum and daily schedule.
- Supervise children at all times and maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios.
- Build positive relationships with children and families.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and safety.
- Complete required observations, assessments, and classroom documentation.
- Communicate professionally with parents and coworkers.
- Work cooperatively as part of a teaching team.
- Follow all center policies, NC childcare regulations, and health and safety procedures.
- Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children and families.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old
High school diploma or GED required
Previous experience working with children preferred
Must meet applicable North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) education and training requirements
CDA, Early Childhood Credential, or degree/coursework in Early Childhood Education or Child Development preferred
Must successfully complete required criminal background check and other required screenings
Must complete required annual professional development/training
